Increasing Liberalization, Privatization, Globalization and Marketisation of the world economy has seen a rapid increase in the overall volumes of trade; wherein India’s share of global Merchandise Trade and Commercial Services have witnessed a decent jump.
The objective of India’s Foreign Trade Policy is to spearhead the growing trend of exports and to provide additional support especially to those sectors which have been hit badly by pandemic and recession in the developed world. The Aatma Nirbhar Bharat is the vision of our Honorable Prime Minister of making India a self-reliant nation; to replace China as the Supplier to the World.
Hence it becomes important for the government to take initiative; diversify our export markets and baskets to offset the inherent disadvantages for our exporters in the emerging new economies through appropriate policy instruments.
